The Young Barn Swallow Beaks (Handmade Cherry Wood Sculpture)

Ever since I was little and went every summer to my grandparents' country house, I would watch the barn swallow nests. I was fascinated by how instinctively the young born birds were taking their heads out whenever their mother was flying close. It seemed like an avid fight to get the food out of their mother's mouth. I made this sculpture to remind me of those childhood moments.

Swallows have been believed to bring happiness and luck to a family. It also signifies protection and hope.

The wood sculpture is carved integrally by hand with chisels.
